Has general practice computing peaked?

Serious losses will result from England’s National Programme for IT, warns Dr Trefor Roscoe.

abstract

GP computing is the product of a decade of development by the users. These amateur experts continue to support and expand the systems. The National Programme for IT will centralise and unify the systems we use. The expertise will disappear and the systems will be less user friendly. We are in great danger that these changes will make the computer systems less usable, less useful and more frustrating than they already are.
