abstract

The European Health Telematics Association’s contribution to and standing in the European healthcare and socialcare ICT community has largely been built upon its success in bringing together all the key stakeholder groups in ehealth and telemedicine, including national and regional health authorities and systems, hospitals and other healthcare institutions, public and private insurance providers, health professionals, healthcare managers and executives, patients, citizens and consumers, industry, researchers and academics and national and regional member-based organisations. These groups have learned to work together through a range of special-interest groups, providing an important set of reference points that are already shaping the emerging European healthcare and socialcare ICT market. Over the coming months and years we can expect EHTEL to be an increasingly articulate and respected shaper of Europe’s ehealthcare agenda.
