abstract
This article looks at the lessons learned from the electronic
healthcare record pilot projects that have explored the development
of systems bringing together healthcare and socialcare. Joint
working and information sharing has been key to the success of these
projects and these factors are discussed and supported by practical
experiences from five pilot communities. Some of the difficulties
encountered are also included, from which lessons may be learned for
future implementations.
